Step 3. Professional Competency Assessment (for Teaching Positions)
For teaching positions, several assessment stages may be conducted. The structure and sequence of these stages are determined by the relevant department leadership depending on the vacancy.
Passion Stage — motivational essay
Candidates prepare an essay describing their educational philosophy, professional goals and internal motivation. This stage provides an opportunity to share their personal perspective — why education and why now.
Cognitive Ability Test — professional assessment
If required, candidates may complete a professional assessment designed to evaluate subject knowledge and cognitive abilities. The test consists of at least 30 questions developed by department leadership. A score of 71% or higher is considered successful.
Demo Lesson — trial lesson
Candidates conduct a 15–20-minute lesson in a real or simulated classroom environment. This stage is one of the most objective methods of evaluation, as it demonstrates the candidate’s ability to structure a lesson, maintain student engagement, respond to unexpected situations and create meaningful interaction.
Case Study — career potential
Candidates solve practical situational tasks, demonstrating competencies relevant to roles such as administrator, academic coordinator, mentor, or analyst. This stage helps assess how a candidate approaches non-standard situations and evaluates their long-term professional growth potential within the school.
Step 5. Final decision and job offer
Following completion of all stages, the HR specialist prepares a final evaluation and submits it for approval by the school leadership. The final hiring decision is made at the leadership level. If the decision is positive, the candidate receives an official Job Offer outlining all employment terms and conditions. All candidates are informed of the recruitment results.
Step 4. Interview with the department head
Candidates who successfully pass the previous stages proceed to an interview with the department head. At this stage, professional qualifications and suitability for the specific role are assessed in greater depth. Recommendation letters from previous employers are also taken into consideration.
Step 2. Initial HR interview
At the first stage, a Human Resources specialist conducts an interview to clarify information provided in the resume, discuss the candidate’s experience and qualifications, and understand their motivation and career expectations. This is a two-way conversation — we aim to understand the candidate while also providing an honest overview of the school.
